It takes one man to make a difference.
This man, is required to uplift his squadmates. He is required to manage his team efficiently and with respect for individual talent. He is required to prepare his team for tough matches. Fairness, honor, and game strategy should be his only concerns.
It is such a man, that can make all the difference.
Sumi, the Captain of the now plundering Birds of Prey (BoP), has not.
The Birds of Prey are a very talented and hungry squad. Designator leads BoP as the best active player and future IML League star*. Paired with Warpt; the duo is able to capture many kills and control the pace of any match. Supporting the starring cast are Schlong and Lurp. Heavily under-rated, Schlong & Lurp provide distance lobbing and lethal EMP strikes which allow BoP to be a competitive force.
*Designator is also the assistant captain and scouting agent for BoP. His duty is to scout squad mates in order to help Sumi devise a starting line up. He has failed tremendously and I would rather be scouted by a chicken than by Desig "My ego is growing like my tanking ability" nator.

Where is the strategy?

Sumi is perhaps the most arrogant, ignorant, and inexperienced SubSpace captain in league history. His tactics include: deception, trickery, and lying. Nothing more.
I took the time to read some of the scheduling posts Sumi was involved in. I was surprised when I learned that many of my now former squadies play Powerball. I entered Subspace, and asked Sumi if we had any active players on Powerball rosters and his response, “fuck them, I am going to play dirty” made it abundantly clear that we did not.
Needless to say, I was ashamed.
I began debating with Sumi and suggested that we meet Money at a reasonable time to earn our win, and our respect. My efforts were to no avail. I found myself, as usual, speaking on behalf of myself as no other BoP member supported me. So, like any good pilot should do, I remained loyal to my bench and congratulated Sumi on a job well done. If you play for Sumi in the future, remember that you have to be his pet (Designator) in order to earn playing time. Disagree with Sumi and forget about playing. My apologies to Money on behalf of myself as I was not able to convince Sumi that he had a pair of kahonies.
This is the extent of Sumi’s skill as an IML League captain.
The plot gets thicker….
Match time, is an exciting time for any squad. Heartbeats are elevated and stomachs are turned. Many fine squads are practicing their starters and their subs. BoP, however, is not. Sumi is very stubborn and will not listen to ideas or suggestions that could benefit the squad and it’s members. Key decisions are made on “gut feelings” with little or no consideration to strategy. I am sorry, I was inaccurate. There is a piece of strategy devised by Sumi that I forgot to mention:
Sumi> “I am starting Schlong because he lags and will be able to tank a lot of their bombs”.
When met with a loss, Sumi's initial response is to blame 1 person on the squad. There is no discussion of strategy, there is no encouraging debate or discussion that would allow individuals to improve their skills and be ready for next time.
The list of blamed BoP pilots is long. However, "Sumi" is not on that list.
I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to entice Sumi into discussing strategy but was only met with rants and raves about his achievements on the Scheduling board.
Sumi does not understand the value of substitution and his loss to Money, is a perfect example of why this squad will continue to fail. Sumi does not use subs. BoP played an impressive first half taking a huge lead over Money and as time progressed, BoP starters began to tire, lose reps, and die.
Where are the subs?

I expressed my concerns and was ignored. Money began to pick up momentum taking full control of the game. I lost my temper and repeatedly asked Sumi to sub player X, as he was not attacking. Sub player Y because he has no reps. Sub player Z so that we can have a rep and player advantage.
My requests were met with "HE DID NOT DIE YET", in capitals.
I will now take the time, to ask any good IML captain:
"What is wrong with this picture?"
A) Money is sitting in the hole, no players to sub, no reps, and facing a huge BoP lead.
B) BoP starters have done their job. They are tired, rep-less, and facing death. BoP subs are eagerly waiting to play, hungry, confident, and determined to beat Money.
Do they get the opportunity?
NO.
As the match progressed, Money came back from a monumental deficit and tied leaving many BoP starters with 2 deaths. By this time, BoP was fast on their heels as Money was swooping in one by one taking advantage of the now tired, and defeated BoP starters.
A tough loss could have been avoided quite easily if Sumi took time out from the scheduling board and learned the importance of using Subs.
Of course, Sumi blamed me for the loss (Ghost Dog) as I subbed in with 1 min remaining to the no specials sub mark. I was very angry, not thinking clearly, and yes, I choked. I will admit it. How could I not? I spent the entire match pulling out my hair watching a huge BoP advantage disappear. To add insult to injury, my concerns were answered with. "HE DID NOT DIE YET". How am I to take the blame for the loss that could have so easily been avoided by good strategy from a good captain? That is the reason why I left BoP immediately after the loss. BoP does not have a good captain. BoP does not have a good assistant captain. BoP, only has angry players who have privately discussed their departure plans.
BoP Facts:
- Konhero has not played one game.
- Bad Logo has only played a few.
- Designator never subs, and always starts. When asked to sub, his response is "no".
- Bad Logo, Don Cherry, and Myself (Ghost Dog) have voluntarily subbed out to give other members of BoP an opportunity and to build a rep and player advantage.
Was our example followed?
No.

You single handedly lost two matches for us this season because you play stupid. You are not smart and when you play and you don't understand what it is you need to do, ie get kills or lob and protect a lead...which was the case Sunday. I fucking hate you because, well, your stupid. Now don't take this personal, I believe your game mentality is stupid, not you as a person necessarily. You asking me to sub a player with 0 reps that had not died in 30 minutes of play is what actually cost us the game...you see, you messaged me fifty fucking times during a match to play and then choke. I should of left Lurp in the game or brought in Bad Logo but I felt sorry for you...and then you suicided. So, thanks for the article, despite your suicide we are not yet out of the playoffs. We have overachieved this season despite you, not because of you. In closing, we have several good players wanting to join for next season but refused to commit because you were on the roster, with that not being the case anymore we will be stronger than ever without you. During the last off-season Sumi quit BoP (did he tell them?) and joined ballistics (one that requires full commitment and generally only accepts members for life). When the other squad posted his acceptance on their site, some BoP members refused to believe it. Shortly after making his commitment to the new squad and assuring them he'd quit BoP, he asked to alias on the new squad. Of course that didn't work out, both sides caught on to the lies then Sumi ran back to BoP...have no idea what lies he told them to get back on as Cap. Ever since those off-season incidents, it's almost as if Sumi has become a completely different person...his entire personality has changed...almost as if he'd given his account to some low-life retard who's new hobbies include lying and trash talking like a 12-year old.

2. I am responsible for doing whats best for our squad, not the opponent. Thats what the opposing Captain is for. When did it become a crime to request the time that is most advantageous for your squad? I requested a time that was consistent with the majority of our players being online and when I thought we played the best. Well, to think about this further every fucking Captain in league does this every week, they request a time that is best for their squad, if they don't then they shouldnt be the Captain. You can find many examples of this every week of every season in leauge. I dislike Surrey but atleast he is not a hypocrite.
3. Every week Captains in SS and coaches in sports make decisions, some good and some bad. The fact of the matter is the decision I made to sub or not on Sunday is not the reason we lost. Yes mindriot, the reason we lost was because of you and your rock. Rock you ask? Well, yes, the rock. You see, mindriot uses a fucking rock on his forward key and fire button and doesnt stop until he dies. When he dies he claims the "lag killed me". Mindriot, thanks for suiciding on Sunday giving Money the 4v3 advantage. Deny it all you want but you admitted it to squaddies and myself. You see, you may have hard feelings about me and criticize my decisions but lets see what squad in AML picks you up for next season with a track record of suiciding a death in a league match when your feelings were hurt. Plain and simple, you are a pussy. Lots of people get pissed in a season but they choose to handle it in other ways than suiciding. By the way, remind me of what squad you have Captained before? What squad? What season? What league? All season everyone has comprimised and agreed on suitable times in the afternoon... all of a sudden it's close to playoffs and you PROBABLY aren't going to make it, so you decide to use the scheduling as a means to gain a sort of unfair advantage. Forcing teams to either keep their players up late in to the night (early morning) in order to play or else no show. Now I can see doing it once or twice during the season if there is no way around it, but you know very well you could play during regular match times (by regular I mean the agreed upon match times by most every squad and the time frame you have already been scheduling all season). If it was in the middle of the season where things weren't as close as they were or you were well in the playoffs win or lose it would be understandable. But when you are do or die playoffs wise and you all of a sudden out of the blue "realize" 11pm ESt is the best time for your squad (mind you it took you 13 games to figure this out, not much of a captain if you ask me) it looks very fishy. You are nothing be deceitful and dishonest in your tactics. I hope your squad realizes this and will disband. Even with my reputation I do NOT schedule in an unfair way in order to gain wins. I may not care what people think about me but atleast I have respect for my squad and thep layers that back me ups reputation as an honest hardworking squad that plays fair for its wins.

I do all the recruiting of pilots. The bottom line here mind is this: Your lag has been a major concern of bop all season long. Many of my peers agree on that fact. You and I were friends before I brought you on, and I am sorry that you don't understand that when sunday comes around, I am in game mode and all friendships are nullified - my goal is to win the match. I will do whatever I feel is necessary to win, and if that hurts your feelings, well, sorry. Sumi asks me before each game who I think should start and I give my input.

- I agree. The players you chose played well and you did take the lead. However, let us not forget you lost the lead even while playing 4 on 3 Money pilots. Also, throughout the season, I have been messaging Sumi to start others and sub others over me. I was not concerned that I did not start all season, I was only concerned that I did not start in the Money game. In responce to airwalkr. Just like to point out that we have won far more matches vs tougher squads this season than we did when Tigro and CJ played (not to put them down btw). So your comment that BoP sucks without them is pretty dumb.
Mind, personally I like you, but when its time to play a match I wonder wtf gets in your head. I can think of 3 times in matches just off the top of my head that you invoked the rock syndrome (rock placed on forward arrow and ctrl key). Your game smarts is next to nothing and I have even asked you in pracs WTF were you thinking. I saw you die in the $ match and I seriously dropped my jaw. If you were paying any attention to the game you would have noticed nova sucking up bullets and bombs like a fucking hoover and that attacking him and another person ALONE with your guns was fucking stupid. (especially when the only thing asked of you was to STAY ALIVE) At that point the match was FAR from over. Your death sealed the deal tho. We didnt lose because Sumi didnt sub correctly (BTW with the exception of Bad Logo we dont have anybody else that would have been any better than the people we had in regardless of reps). We lost because we (the starters) got sloppy and didnt finish off the people with 2 deaths. Your death looked something more along the lines of you trying to be a hero. Since you quit on us I hope you can find a squad that you fit into and have a good time with. Best of Luck

Btw, what I noticed in your game play, is that you did not get sloppy, you continued to play reasonably well but...you did not pick a single target. When I pracced against BoP after I left the squad I noticed that the biggest mistake you guys make is allowing the players with potential 3rd deaths to escape. Another player in close proximity to the chase is shot and all of you immediatley start chasing him instead of the hurt player with 2 deaths. I escaped death about 4 or 5 times this way. Just thought that might help you out.
