Pro Bowl
General News by Nelson on June 20, 2004 at 08:21 PM

Congratulations to Assassins and Tyranny who have made it to the Pro Bowl. They will square off this weekend in a best 2 of 3.

A reminder that the pro all-star game will happen the week after the pro bowl is over. Captains, please select your all-star teams.

1. Supremacist
2. 5tonecold
3. Enemy
4. Jinxi

As noted by the voting, it will be mandatory subs, 3 lives per slot and the 4 teams will be seeded as per above (from MR standings) and played in a seeded single elimination tournament. Each captain is responsible for recruiting their own players (limit of one player from each squad in pro, yourself doesn't count). Matches will be best of 1, as best of 3 may delay it a tad and I have not received word that IML is having an all-star game. The staff wishes to start the next season ASAP.

Notice of changes/news to pro league will happen during the next coming weeks, including rumours of a cash jackpot for next season. Stay tuned!

IML Playoffs

I have received the final squad preference today. I have posted the matchups on the IML scheduling board. Games are to be scheduled for next sunday, June 20th.

IML Playoffs
General News by Nelson on June 08, 2004 at 05:19 PM

Sorry about the mass confusion. But I have been able to piece together what you are all looking for. Even though we are missing some results, I was still able to piece together the correct seedings for IML. So here's some explanations first. This is how playoffs work (also a link on the left):

2) Postseason
Playoffs will be the top 8 teams decided in this order:
1) number of wins
2) kill differential
3) head2head
4) most points scored

Special notes:

1) Going into playoffs, the top eight teams will be seeded based on the above criteria. The top seeded team can choose which of the teams seeded #5-8. The second seeded team can choose from the remaining three teams not picked by the top seed. This repeats for seeds 3-4. In round two of the playoffs, the top seeded team (from original seedings) will still be able to choose from the bottom 2 seeded teams.

2) Replacement teams are still eligible to make the playoffs, but will have less rounds to aquire wins.

3) Only finals will be best of three matches. Rounds 1-2 are decided by one match.

4) The number of points assigned for a no-show win is details in rule #3.2.

Don't complain to me about the format and how things don't make sense, I know that some of you will be angry about h2h behind +/-, especially Dissent and United, but I didn't make up the rules and I do not run IML, I just follow the guidelines. Finals Seedings from 1 to 8:

Money
United
Dissent
Ballistics
Bad
In Flames
Creation
Fighting Foodons

Squads seeded 1-4, please send me a reply via the scheduling board or ?message in game to tell me who you want to play from 5-8. Don't give me one squad, put them in order, because obviously, all the teams may want to play one team (usually the weakest one). I apologize on behalf of the staff for the delay and confusion.

Addition: Squad captains, please submit your preference no later than Monday, 3 PM EST. Squads that do not submit a preference will get what's left over.

Stuff
General News by Nelson on June 04, 2004 at 09:04 PM

Pro playoffs continue this week with games scheduled on the right. Next week begins the semi-final battle for right to play in the probowl. IML is into its second and final makeup round; the schedule can be found in the IML Scheduling Forum like last week.

On a side note, I will be starting polls for the pro all-star game this weekend on the PRO Board. Feel free to submit ideas/suggestions; the good ones will be put up for polling and voted by the population during the next couple of weeks. Please note that the all-star game will be run according to how you vote, so if you want it in a certain format/system, then go vote and or make suggestions.
