There will be no box score pilot results until the MR developers get a chance to fix the Masterrater log parser for manual uploads or until the bots get permission from their new location to upload. The eta on this could be next weekend or it could be next season, hard to tell at this point. Once again, thank you for your patience. Please flame through.

Mrbots
General News by Ace on April 24, 2004 at 02:09 PM

The guys who've been hosting the bots lately have been incommunicado due to real life work and we're working towards getting them a permanent home. Until that time they will be in and out and not uploading prac/game stats automatically. It might be a little bumpy but we're working hard towards getting everything smooth again. We thank you for your patience, gimps.

Lagout rule reminder
General News by Demishadow on April 05, 2004 at 04:57 PM

From looking at old posts, the rules around lagouts have not significantly changed since atleast 2002... yet this season has shown some very vast differences between how people think the rules work on lagouts compared to how they are in the rulebook.

So, to restate it... if you lag out of a game you are burned. Doesnt matter if it was 1 second after the go, or 5 seconds after you died. You lagout, you are burned, there is NO engage limitation on this!

There is just once case where you can lagout and not be burned. This is when you are entering the game (say you are subbing a starter) and you instantly lag out. This is defined in 2 ways:
- If you "manually" enter and have not yet reached your playing freq by the time you lagout.
- If you "bot-assisted" enter and do not stay in for atleast 5 seconds before lagging out.

In the history of our appeals process it has shown that the refs are NOT reliably able to make sure if a player has engaged or not on such cases. As MRbots develop we can, and should, look into other options for this series of rules. However, atleast until next season the rules are as they are here.

Demi.

-------

10.3 Burning upon return from lagout

A player who returns to the arena after a lag out must use up ("burn") all ITEMS (reps, thors, portals, decoys and rockets) after changing to the right frequency. The ref will most often do this, unless he does not have a Bot to assist him. If a bot is not present the player must use all reps, rockets, decoys, warps, and thors, before rejoining combat. The player must not send decoys or thors in the direction of the battle.

10.7 Instantaneous lagouts and consequences

If a player returns from a lag out but lags again before changing to their team frequency, it does not count as another lag out. If the player changed to their frequency and then lagged out, it counts as another lag out. In the case where a ref automatically puts the player into the correct frequency the lag out will not count if it happens inside the first 5 seconds of being put into the game.

10.5 Consequences of engaging before being burned

If you try to engage the enemy before you are burned; you will be assigned a death and given a new ship if you still have lives remaining.

Daylight Savings
General News by Ace on April 02, 2004 at 03:14 PM

Please note that the clock on the right side of this site is based on your own PCs internal clock and may not adjust to the time change that will occur ET on Saturday. Matches will be played based on eastern time so be sure to doublecheck your time so you don't miss your match.

Use this link to check the current Eastern time: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=179
Daylight Saving Alerts/Notices

Also note that 4pm matches are booked solid. It is possible some matches may be starting late. If your match is 30 minutes late or longer in starting BOTH captains can agree to postpone or delay. Make sure your team can stay longer to avoid a weak showing. If you delay your match and wish to play the same day you must contact a ref directly and arrange for him/her to ref your match at another time.

Some rules/misc stuff
General News by Demishadow on April 01, 2004 at 07:14 PM

Hmm...

On the rules forum I have posted (very generally) what I think is currently the options on the table, for NEXT season, about rule 12.4

http://premier.shanky.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7172

As to the euro rule (rule 4.4)... yes, it is being discussed inside the staff. Over the next few days, if I am not way to busy, some more will be posted publically (on the rules forum) and the public can then give an opinion on the options listed.

Suprem is running a pro-based poll on the issue of mines/no-mines in Pro League for next season. Once again, how much interest that is shown to this issue will aid us in figuring out what kinda attention to put on it. As it is a mainly-pro issue at the moment the poll is on the pro forum. Suprem asks for only pro-players to vote which is as I think it should be... but anyone is definitly free to comment.
