Computer Sharing - revisted

Ok, as people know... if we dont have the cases all cleared up the players will be made inelligible until they are cleared up. Many of the cases so far are now getting cleared up, but some still exist. Please ask a ref to see if you or your team have any names on the list. If so, please make sure to email in the info on sharing to the email addresses below! You may also find me ingame to try to figure it out (Demishadow).

As many of you guys know, we have managed such a list, called the "brother list" for many seasons. However, as time passes its become less and less usefull. Over time people have changed their nics, without telling us. Furthermore, it is becomming more standard that people fail to inform us completely.

As such a list is necessary to the operation of the league, it is being formalized into the rulebook (it should have already been done so, but looks like it aint yet). So, this will be added to the rulebook:

At the start of the season ALL team captains are responsible for compiling a list of players on their rosters who have a valid reason to share computers with another rostered player. Included in this info should be all the players whom the person share their computer with and their squad and a reason why the computer is being shared. This information will be held private within the staff.

Typlical reasons we get:
- Brothers
- Roomates

Now, since the policy hasnt been as clear as it should have been, we ask all squads to send in such a list by Friday, 22nd (August). Please send this list to all the sysops and Plat-halo (shanky@shanky.com, ajs3@austin.rr.com, tincup@email.hinet.hr, serenity75@mindspring.com, ssadmin@bellsouth.net)

Please note. This goes for everyone. Including people who have informed us in the past that they would be sharing computers. Sorry for any inconvience this may cause. In future seasons we hope to have an easier way to handle this.

Sharing and inelligibility for this weekend

First, I would like to thank those squads who have sent in computer-sharing information. It has definitly helped us clear up some question marks and the list looks soooo much nicer now.

Second, we regret to do this. But, if our investigations showed some questionable activities (on sharing) and without any formally emailed in sharing-info email then those names involved are not elligible to play this weekend. We will be conducting some questioning to figure out these oddities throughout the next while.

For those with valid reasons, that we haven't been clearly EMAILED about... we are sorry to take such actions. Hopefully it will all be cleared up by the next round. But well, our request was even posted twice (on our official news site, premier.shanky.com) and captains should have been emailed twice about this.

Captains can ask refs if anyone on their squad will be made inelligible this weekend.

Sorry for the inconvience this will cause.. and the firestorm.

Polling bot...

I have just setup a bot that can do polls in pub called (for now) PDTestBot1. It is in a very early stage and may show bugs, so sorry for any unwanted spam/errors.

It should keep spamming you as you enter pub until you make a vote on the different polls you are eligible to take part in. (It gives different polls depending on what league you are rostered on)

I will hope to soon allow people tell the bot that they do not wish to take part in any polls (thus, removing any spam at all).

If you have any suggestions on how to make the interface better (and yes, there must be a way to make it cleaner)... or if you find bugs, please post on the premier dev forum (link on the right hand side menu). Results/etc will eventually be tied into the MR-system somewhere.

Subspace prox fix

Well, it has finally been tested and released. The zone server software now demands that all clients use the fixed version. When logging in you will be able to get a link to site(s) where you can download it. It is around 500k in size. I suggest everyone download it as soon as possible and get accustomed to playing with it.

New AML Sysop

Hi everyone,

I'd like to inform the Premier League community that I've been selected by Premier Staff as the new AML sysop.
Most of you know me, but for those who don't: I've been playing league for years. I've been a ref for 2 seasons and a referee coordinator for two and half season, and since I became active again, I offered my help to Premier League, which was accepted.
Anyway, I'd like to thank Crunchy for all the hard work he has been doing for the last couple of weeks. He will still continue being in charge of scheduling.

Our main goal will be to make sure AML is as much fun and as friendly a place it can be, while maintaining a high level of organization.

I will also use this opportunity to wish the best of luck to all the squads during the rest of the season and into playoffs.
That is all for now. If anyone needs any help or info feel free to contact me by mail or through the forum.

Just a reminder that Double Squadding is Illegal and as such any players/Squads that are found to be in breach of this rule will be severly punished. (forfeit games and player bans)

If in any doubt contact a member of staff who will be willing to assist in any matters that may be of concern to you regarding potential Double Squadding

For further information check this In particular paying attention to rules 2a 2b and 2c.

Now that Round 4 has passed every player who has been added to a roster will be checked for potential double squadding.

Mandatory Information

All Premier League Refs and Team captains Must submit their current emails to ace@subspacechaos.com immediately. Without this information the appeals process, league announcements, and squad/ref promotional opportunities will be extremely slow and could cause potential problems and miscommunications. We very much appreciate everyone's efforts in getting this info to us asap.

Please include the following information:
Your Full Nick.
Your Position.
Your Squad.
Your primary active email address.

Also, not urgent, but something all captains need to plan for: Next season active (non-freemail) emails will be required of ALL Premier League players. This list will not be published, however, it is a necessary first step in making sure all players are registered properly.
