Ship Settings Page Updated
General News by Ace on July 31, 2003 at 10:47 PM

Settings haven't changed, but it's been brought to my attnt that the old page was wrong. The page should now be up-to-date and accurate:

http://premier.shanky.com/settings.html.

While we're on the subject, how many people are interested in seeing the staff try something new with the one ship not currently in use (shark) next season? If you care one way or the other feel free to leave comments on this news post.

Rules...
General News by Demishadow on July 26, 2003 at 06:18 PM

Did another slight update to the rules. Tried to clarify a few things, fixed a bit of language. See this link for the updates/information on them: http://premier.shanky.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4533

More details/discussion can be found on the rules forum: http://premier.shanky.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=19

I put a few thoughts up there on the direction of the rules and issues I would like the public to think about/give input on before any changes are made.

Thank you for your input so far.

Wolf.

Round 2 Postponed 4pm Matches Update
General News by Crunchy+ on July 21, 2003 at 10:08 PM

Due to the server/bot outage on Sunday the following matches are now being rescheduled on the scheduling board:

Tuff Guys vs Presence
BIA vs BlackDragon
Nightwatch vs Secret
Tweaked vs Llamasery

Game will continue with
-same score
-same time left
-same kill/death stats

You may:
-Change your lineup but decide which player inherits which deaths and kills. If they did start the original game, they fit into their old slot.
-Decide if all players start burned/not-burned. (if captains cannot agree, everyone will be burnt)

-Current match detail (score, player stats) will be posted on the scheduling thread.

Scheduling captains may schedule these matches for any day of the week from now until sunday of round 4. If teams can not agree on a rematch date, the match will be scheduled for the Postponement week at the end of regular season.

Ref Applications
General News by LordVegas on July 20, 2003 at 08:50 PM

For the time being Premier League is no longer accepting applications for Refs, I will respond to the ones that i have recieved thus far but we are attempting to train and get adjusted to our new staff members who have been hired. We appreciate the number of applications we heave recieved and are glad to see so many people are interested in helping out, but we need to finish making adjustments with the personel we have now before we will be hiring any more people. I will make a post when we are accepting applications again.

Thank you,
LordVegas -Premier League Referee Coordinator

Staff Changes
General News by Ace on July 11, 2003 at 01:57 PM

The AML managers Dacrath and Lord Lincke have retired from staff this season (good luck guys!) and their big job is currently being filled by Crunchy who is looking for some help. We have many other staff members afk this weekend and next, so please be patient with us as we scramble to cover all responsibilities.

Also, I would like to announce the opening of 3 new positions, one for each league: News Anchor. The job is basically to watch games and/or analyze MasterRater results and post (on this news page) brief match highlights each week for your league. It should be a fun and simple job. If you are interested please email me at ace@subspacechaos.com.

PremDev Update
General News by Ace on July 08, 2003 at 07:11 PM

Insider news for those interested can be found at the PremDev website (link under misc. on the left). Nothing huge to report, but definite progress is being made on bots/masterrater and more. Be sure to thank A Foul wind, Apriori, and Cerium for their dedication.

If you have any problems with MasterRater or the Mr-Bots please post them in a poliite, constructive fashion to the premdev forum. Link on left.

If you want to randomly flame the system or the bots please send a self-addressed envelope to youchokeondiseasedmonkeypenises@glokinyournose.org for anthrax insertion. Thanks!

Schedules and Shanky Bye Bye
General News by Shanky on July 06, 2003 at 10:45 PM

First things first. Both the IML and Pro schedules for the regular season have been created. They are already inputed into the MasterRater. I text file of round-by-round can be found here: IML and Pro
For your squad's season breakdown, click on your squad in the MasterRater.

As many people already know, I will be in Europe for the next two weeks. I will be visiting Southern Poland for family reasons. I will be gone starting Monday July 7th until Tuesday July 22nd. My connection to the internet will be limited. But I will try to reply to any emails sent to me or anyone private messages through the forum. I will not be around on ICQ, so any messages sent to me will not get answers until I return.

While I am away, Ghost Ship will be acting Pro sysop. Any major problems can be addressed to him or any other Premier Staff member. Cose stated he will be updating both the IML and Pro schedules for the next two weeks.

Chaos Fun
General News by Ace on July 04, 2003 at 04:48 PM

For those of you new to the whole Chaos thing or returning from a long haitus I'd like to fill you in on all the gaming goodness Chaos provides.

The Chaos website is at http://www.subspacechaos.com/ and the Chaos message boards are here.

Chaos pub is a goal-oriented pub with quite a few built-in mini-games (thanks to hallu) to test your skills in a variety of ways. Green to 9000 or run the zone with a 60+ kill streak to get in the Hall of Fame. Win a reset or go for the greater glory and try to win the semi-annual Chaos Zone Rankings (CZR) in any of the nine categories maintained by AgentSteel.

After you've established your superiority in Pub be sure to check out our Chaos Events.

First and foremost, Chaos League (currently run by the tireless Bearded Dragon) is probably the single best Saturday event in all Subspace. Expect to see 80+ pilots battling it out for score supremecy in an anything goes Chaos format. The new season starts up in just a few short weeks and no sign-ups are required. Be sure to check out the website for more deatils.

Secondly, the longest running monthly OnlyOne tournament in Subspace, The Master of Chaos (MoC) Tourney is held the first Saturday of every month at 7pm ET. July's MoC will be held tomorro! No sign ups are required but we recommend you familiarize yourself with the format at the website.

Beyond all that we have a dedicated events team (lead by Bearded Dragon and passplay) that are constantly developing and hosting new and exciting events ranging from Speed to Turret Wars to the infamous Kaos Wars developed by RenderGod.

There's always going to be plenty to do, so stop blaming your dead gerbils for your lack of enjoyment in life!

Chaos/Premier Merger
General News by Shanky on July 04, 2003 at 01:56 AM

Premier League has officially merged with Chaos. Please update your zone list if necessary.

Due to the nature of the merger, all previous chaos-bot silencing have been cleared. If you were banned from Chaos prior to the merger please send an email with your ban details to shanky@shanky.com. You now have a fresh start, try and keep it clean.

Important Notice: Premier League policy towards player conduct has been lax. This will no longer continue. Be sure to read the top section of the Premier League Rules on “Player Conduct”. Foul language and general trash talk will not be punished and no one should be banned for verbal offenses. However, racial slurs and other forms of extreme language will be punished with progressive lengths of silencing. Be warned that while silenced you will also lose your ability to switch arenas (Esc+A or ?arena).

Hopefully, with better server technology in the near future, all interested SVS zones can look forward to a mutually beneficial merger. Imagine a zone that caters and trains newbies on entry and then feeds them to more difficult SVS zones as they learn.
