Updates
General News by on May 26, 2003 at 01:55 PM

As we have hit our offseason, a number of different projects are taking place inside the staff to prepare for next season.
- Hiring of refs. LordVegas and Zephiyr are still accepting applications for new refs.

- Staff changes. Some action has taken place here.
- Shanky moving into the pro sysop role
- Cose moving from SM-admin to Appeals coord
- Crunchy moving up from a ref to become AML-Scheduling Coord
- Wolfperson returning to staff as Rules Coord
- 2 new events coordinators, ChronicFlash and Wasty
- There still will be some more movement here as some positions are still not confirmed yet.

- Website/bots/SM
- A dedicated group of individuals have come forth to aid in the much needed revamp of these entities. (A foul wind, Apriori, Cerium, Ace, Immortal, DAW). This group is called PremDev and will have a site up in a week+.
- For next season we should be phasing out ScoreMaster and inserting MasterRater in its place.
- New bots are being developed to interface automatically with the new MasterRater.

- Rules
- In a couple of weeks a new draft rulebook will be posted. After this point a forum will be setup in which the public can discuss the changes and suggest new changes. This discussion will be moderated by Wolfperson with the goal in mind to make the rulebook solid and simpler. Details will be outlined upon the posting of the draft rulebook.

- League structures
- Currently squads are being asked about their status for next season. When this process is done the sysops will outline proposals for next seasons league structures.

- Nether's SPLF ladder
- It is our hope that shortly 0Nether can get his ladder up and running. It will receive the full support from the staff, as the DL's/events have gotten.
- For next season atleast this ladder will not replace the current league structure. It is our hope that they will live in co-existance. We cannot call a hault to our operations for something that has yet to be put into play. If it eventually demonstrates that it is superior to the current structure then having it being exclusive will be looked at, if that is what the people demonstrate.

Wolfperson.

You'll notice that the link table has been modified considerably. Hopefully it will be more intuitive once you get used to it. You'll also notice that I've updated (with many staff members' help) much of the content throughout the site as well as having added a few new sections such as Ship Settings and PremDev.

If you spot any bad links or bugs or have any ideas or suggestions feel free to comment on this news post by following the link below. Thanks and enjoy!
